Join the Technology Services team on the Logos Hope and support their work as they provide ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) services to the crew and departments on board. As you step out of your comfort zone, you’ll see God use you in the most remarkable ways!
You can join at 2 different times (2024 dates TBA):
August 15- November 8, 2023 or November 9, 2023-January 10, 2024
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide end user support to the business users on the ship
- Help to solve any ICT related problems effectively
- Create and maintain user accounts
- Maintain and clean the hardware of the ICT infrastructure
- Install new hardware properly in accordance with marine regulations
- Provide necessary support for crew member’s personal devices
- Help with printer issues
- Assign new permissions to a user account
- Write documentation
- Changing hard drives or other broken components of computer
- Prepare laptops, printer, etc. to be used by new users
- Install software on business computer
Qualifications and Skills
- Studying in the field of IT, computer science, technology
- Enjoy solving problems
- Willingness to learn
- Team skills
- Good customer service attitude
Additional Info
- All interns must formally accept and abide by OM USA’s Statement of Faith for the duration of the internship.
- International internships are not paid positions and all financial needs will need to be covered with personal support. Our organization will provide tools and training to raise funds.
- Pre-Field training happens through on-line materials and Zoom sessions with coaches for a few weeks leading up internship start date.
Accreditation
- Degree Credit available upon the approval of your university/college supervisors.
